It’s cool to be Kind.
In 2010, the City of Anaheim introduced an initiative to bring a culture of kindness to light and members of the community came together to transform Anaheim into The City of Kindness. Anaheim Union High School's AIME program took the city’s kindness initiative to heart and teamed up with Modern Gourmet Foods to create the Anaheim Kindness Project, a student-led entrepreneurship program that developed new ways to fundraise in their community with kindness and love. Through the program, Anaheim students created products like Kindness Cookies, Kindness Bracelets and Kindness Sticker Packs to use as a fundraising tool for student clubs and programs.

My role was to mentor the Product Design and Marketing Team on how to create the logo, product packaging and marketing materials. Each year, the team would share what they learned from the previous year and tried to develop something better each time. Because we were short on time, I would do the design work, but the students contributed with their own designs, direction and marketing ideas. For instance, the logo for the products in 2017 was created by a student! And some sticker designs were student designed. It was a rewarding and fun project.
